Meyers Leonard's Post-Workout Smoothie

I tend to be a creature of habit. So when I find a post-workout smoothie that tastes good and has optimal ingredients for an athlete, I don’t really change my recipe. When you train, there are two parts of the puzzle. The first (and most obvious) is the “gym time”. This could be an outdoor run, lift, bike ride, game, etc. It’s the sweat equity part of training.

The second part is about how you treat your body when you leave. Properly fueling post-workout is arguably just as important (if not more important) than what you do in the gym. Food acts as the fuel for you to be stronger, faster, leaner, etc. If you don’t eat the right way or enough, there is a greater chance of your body breaking down. For me, this smoothie is exactly what I need when it comes to performance and recovery. And, did I mention that it actually tastes good too?

INGREDIENTS:

1 CUP FROZEN STRAWBERRIES
1 MEDIUM BANANA
2 TBSP ALMOND BUTTER
2 SCOOPS WHEY PROTEIN
1 CUP OF WATER
2 TSP OF BEET EXTRACT
2 TBSP OF L-GLUTAMINE

PREPARATION:

Combine all ingredients in a kitchen blender and mix until smooth.

Enjoy!
